Suddenly Everywhere: Button Earrings
Whether your reference point is the ’80s or the ’60s, these face-framing, post-style earrings are back. I personally associate them with vintage The Young and the Restless and other soap operas. As in:

More than a statement stud, they’re bigger and bolder, and typically round or floral in shape, but as my edit below proves, modern iterations take many forms. Ranging in size from gumdrop to gobstopper, designs like Naomi Sarna’s maple leaves (winner of the AGTA’s Best Use of Color category), Mastoloni’s contemporary take on the classic oversized pearl stud, and Elizabeth Garvin’s chunks of green amethyst are giving danglers a run for their money.
