It takes a lot to convince New Yorkers to schlep across town to the Jacob K. Javits Center—especially on a cold, windy and rainy day in March—but for this jewelry editor, the  JANY Spring 201show makes the effort totally worth it. Why? It's one of the most important, if not the most important, jewelry trade shows in the Northeast, and it's where an international community of top designers gathers throughout the year to show their new collections to buyers and press.

Happily, many engagement rings and wedding bands are included among the new pieces—you just have to know where to look. And this year, I was thrilled to learn, there was also a petite assembly of estate and antique jewelry dealers in a special section known as the Lueur corridor.

I shared several of my favorite discoveries on Instagram, but what follows is a more comprehensive recap of my day at Javits. As for my coral nail polish, which almost, barely obscures my unfortunate hands in all the photos? Totally inspired by Cate Blanchett in Carol. Click through to see the best engagement rings and wedding bands at the show.
